(and i'm going to take it in STRIDE the fact that the IBOOK i love --- seems to have gone kaput --- and take it NOT as a sign it's going to be a bad new year or that i should give UP on my project ...DAMN, 2007 is GOING TO ROCK) ... off on a road trip w/ my Art, taking pics, spending time w/my LOVE, having sushi, taking more pics later tonight AND toasting in the NEW YEAR ... day before x-mas eve...
sitting on the couch w/ my love watchin' ocean's eleven and the dogs are sleeping peacefully ...
it was rather a good day even though we're both sick and most of my images are lost ( except for on the internet)...
spread holiday cheer answered e-mails sketched got excited for the new season at the crocker ...
watchin a whole lotta old movies made dinner shock even made brownies ...
and of course took pictures and filmed it all ...
not bad for a saturday ...

so ....
in leui (spelling) of a proper post ( pics AND film) --- i have to post this:
in TRYING to save a week's worth of work on disc --- i seemed to have "lost" it all.
i was stressed, then sad, then angry.
but --- i sit here now, chalking it up to a life lesson learned.
i have some photos on flickr and some video on you tube ... and of course here on my blog --- and for me that's the savings grace.
IF i has lost a YEAR'S worth of work --- that would have been HARDER for me to overcome.
i will ask my dear husband for help, i will be more careful, and i will back UP.
hopefully a real post tomorrow...

i've been thinking about it alot lately --- do i REALLY need a "show" or a certain SUBJECT to make Art? i mean if i take all the stuff that's happened to me this past year --- that should be enough MATTER for 10. YEARS. but the EVERDAY --- "ORDINARY" stuff that happens in my life --- that's what moves me lately.

Genie is a fantastic artist. She has a gift for putting things together and making them reflect what is going on inside her and outside her. Mary and I have a couple of her pieces. You can look at her pieces everyday and see something fresh. Genie and her husband Scott both have this gift. There are people who have a talent for putting things together. I think the majority of us do what is convenient. We take something apart and scrutinize the parts. We identify the what little we see, and forget the whole. (Sorry.That sound pretty negative). I've witnessed most people stop and really look at Genies art work. That's because Genie has a quality both within herself and within her artwork that draws people in."

Today's My Birthday ...
... it's your BIRTHDAY too, yeah.
today is the start of my project "Living At 39" --- which this blog is a part of.
quite simply, it's the last year of my 30's (ohgawd), and I am going to "document" everygoshdamnday here, in my visual journal ( old fashioned writing & collage-ing), taking photos ( polaroid AND digi-cam), filming ( digi-cam), and sketching ( ohgawd) ...
my 38th year was. hard. but i felt like i "missed" it, if you know what i mean.
this year, good, bad, and everything in between --- i'm savoring.
